Happy Tuesday! I’ve been enjoying warmer weather and time with my boys and family at the happiest of places (Disney, as I’m still a kid at heart!) for Mr. E’s birthday! I can’t wait to share details and travel ideas from this long weekend. It feels good to smile and just enjoy time bonding with the special people I love. I think about heaven often and how my joy is a representation of my angel’s wish for us to be well and together. We enjoyed our Valentine’s day cooking and dancing and catching some sun! And while I know that NYC right now is experiencing some major cold right now and NYFW is in full swing, I thought I’d share some warm details in some of my favorite colors – olive, navy, and wine (seen here too!).
I am dedicating today’s Sunday Favorites to all of you! This platform has given me so much joy and room to breathe after all that has happened this past year. You have helped give this space its wings! Grief can be so stifling and keep you frozen in place where you feel like there is nothing you ever want to do to feel happy again. But by the grace of all that is good in this world, I did not let that happen. This Season’s Gold is the very space in which I live to honor every single one of us women who have to go through life in the least ideal way; and that can look different to every one of us (loss, single parenting, divorce, financial strain, this list can go on and on!). I am giving thanks to the very soul that makes me see everyday as an opportunity to always try something new, never give up, to be proud of my strength and live to the fullest. I know I would have raised a strong, independent, hard working, passionate and honorable young woman, and because of This Season’s Gold, I know she guides me to celebrate women who are the same.
Not realizing that I hadn’t thought much about what to wear this holiday season (this one is a tough one!), I was so pleased when Nadine of Milagros Designs asked me to style one of her most popular pieces, the Fiesta Skirt. Given my affinity for gold, she thought it would be fitting to wear her gold tulle skirt, and within moments I knew exactly how I wanted to wear it. I’ve seen many bloggers wearing tulle skirts, and to be honest, I often thought I could never make the look work. But I knew I wanted to keep the look simple and classic, so it felt just right with a fitted turtleneck. Add on the glamorous (and shiny gold!) accessories, and I was set feeling ready for the holidays!
This was especially an enjoyable experience because it allowed me to meet such strong woman doing what they love. Not only is Nadine a seasoned and skilled fashion designer (follow her on Instagram here!), but Lillie from Jersey Fashionista (blogger and skilled photographer!) joined us to be our photographer for the afternoon, along with Alexa from Lex Loves Couture who styled the skirt (in pink!), were all a pleasure to meet and work with on this photoshoot.
If you are loving tulle skirts these days which are perfect for the holiday season, prepare to have fun creating your ideal tulle skirt with Nadine in any length and color. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for reading, following and helping me grow! From our family to yours, we wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving with those you love here and afar. What are you thankful for this holiday season? Feel free to share with me in the comments below, and I’d love to celebrate with you in spirit.
It’s almost the weekend! It has been quite dreary the last few days on my side of the world, but I was excited when I remember that I hadn’t shared a fun colorful look that I wore not so long ago! The colors this fall season have been so rich and warm and perfect right before the holidays roll around! But there are a few that have been standing out, such as burgundy and blue. Or is it wine and ink, or bordeaux and navy? Whatever you may call it, it’s here to stay for a little while longer. And I love it! It’s been quite obvious those are colors I cannot seem to get enough of this season, and my previous posts here, here and here are evidence of that.
Now for a petite woman like me, it can be hard to tell if over the knee boots over jeans work well unless you actually try them on in the store. That’s why when I am purchasing over the knee boots in the store, I end up wearing the types of jeans I would most likely wear with the boots. Fitted skinny jeans for me are best since it helps to avoid any major bulk at the ankle and have any fit along the shaft of the boot. See more about fitting over the knee boots here.
A bright pink bag brings out the undertones of the burgundy in the outfit and the pattern play in the plaid button down. I liked going more prep that farm girl with the top by adding the blazer to match the boots.
One thing I grew up seeing often was the women in my family always matching everything in their outfits, bags, shoes, clothing, lipstick…all of it (And don’t get me wrong, they can dress well!). I’ll even admit that I have overdosed on the matchy-matchy look quite a few times myself (this outfit, case in point!). But I’ve been breaking out and trying new things in my style to elevate the fun factor, so I am working on playing with various color families as I develop more looks over the seasons. Although, don’t doubt that a great full monochrome look like this one here is a bad thing! You should have fun with color, and working with shades within one color is a great place to start!
Thank you for reading! And for those of you who signed up for the newsletter, be on the look out for something special in the next day or two! I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on, and would love your thoughts! See you in the email world soon!

Happy Friday! This has been an emotional week for me, and I’m feeling a little behind on things. However, I always do my best to try to find a silver lining in the midst of the craziness. Spending time with my family and enjoying the fall weather has been the best way to feel grounded and connected to the joys I do have in my life. This platform is also a blessing, and whenever it gets recognized for its work I am always honored. It was a thrill to see that my recent post was selected this week for the Independent Fashion Bloggers Links a la Mode for the fifth time (see here, here, here and here for more!). It only makes me all the more excited to continue to work on the site and make it better for you and for me! (The new update has been promised…and it will arrive…but life as you know takes more turns than you’d like, but it will get here!)
One of our annual traditions is to enjoy a fall family outing by going pumpkin picking. We create a Fall seasonal card to send out to family. I think it’s a nice surprise for our friends and family to see us together each year before we are in the full swing of the holidays. (I have to admit, I never get those Christmas holiday cards out in time anyway, so I start early!)
And with some recent rain, I knew I was in for a muddy mess out in the pumpkin patch. Happily I was able to pull out my green Hunter boots and enjoy a day out in the sun!
The colors of the pumpkins, the changing leaves and the market are always a beautiful sight. Fall is such a inspirational time for wearing warm tones of color, and loving green as much as I do, it was nice to add some pop of red and leopard print into my outfit for the day.
