Happy Sunday! This week, I am so excited to share some great news! First, I want to say that this space has continuously allowed to me grow and heal as a woman and a mother. And many of you have asked why I have this space or how it got its start. Independent Fashion Bloggers recently took time to interview and feature me on their site ( I’m so grateful!), and it sums up everything that has gotten me to where I am today and the value I believe this space has for all women. I hope you get a chance to check out the interview (click here), and let me know what you think! I always value your thoughts and shares with others, especially to any woman who finds themselves in difficult situations, questioning if there ever is a light at the end of the tunnel. (I promise, there is.)

They also featured me this week with their Links a la Mode, so I really want to thank them for their support and loyal following of my work! Check out all the blogs featured this week, and my most recent fashion post below!

Above all of that, I have recently partnered with my (yes, I’m claiming it!) local J.Crew at The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack, NJ for a Styling Event! This honestly is something I’ve always looked forward to as I have been a loyal client of J.Crew for many, many years. Without knowing it, when I got engaged, Mr. E put the ring on a pair of J.Crew gloves! Part of my obsession with J.Crew also started when I found a what-was-then a small little blog called J.Crew Aficionada. She shared some of the great sales and events that J. Crew was hosting, and it was my first glimspe into something I wanted to do.

If you are in my local area, on April 29th anytime between 6-9:30pm, I’d love to meet you and enjoy a night celebrating J.Crew style in the new arrivals! Just be sure to RSVP (a must!) at the link here. My son’s closet is 90% J.Crew, so he can’t wait to find some fun new clothes to wear! He’s my number one J.Crew Crewcuts model, for sure! I look forward to styling and sharing with you!

Here are some great current finds at J.Crew  that you might enjoy while they are having a sale of $75 off $200 or $25 off of $100 with code SHOPNOW.

Thank you for always reading, stopping by and for your loyal support!

Happy Friday! I swear every time I think I have all my ducks in a row, something happens to derail even the most well-made plans. Does that ever happen to you? I’d like to think I’m not the only one. This week has been filled with layers of challenges that only compounded as the week went by. But you know the most important part of dealing with those challenges? It’s finding a way to deal with them and face them head on so that they do not stop you from moving forward. So, that’s exactly what I did. How do you deal with challenges when you least expect them? I’d love to know!

Alright, let’s talk fashion and travel! I have been working on plans to return to Cape Cod this summer, and it’s always makes for an exciting time when making travel plans. Cape Cod is such a quaint and beautiful part of Massachusetts, and every year we enjoy finding new parts of the Cape to explore. Check out my post  here and here from our visit last year! And while I am still trying to find some spring weather to dress for outside my door (Mr. E jokes the poles have shifted!), I’ve been exploring wearing layers on my petite 5′ frame.

This Season's Gold // Petite Layers - crop top

Now, I don’t think I’ve worn a crop top since the 90’s (I’ll have to double check on that!), but the only way I’m comfortable wearing them at this point is in layers! Ha!

This Season's Gold // Petite Layers - Ombre

This Season's Gold // Petite Layers - Crop top and button down

I enjoyed finding this black cropped shell top because it is a great basic piece to have for all seasons. I can layer this over a button down as I did here for work,  or over a turtleneck in the winter, or even on a longer tank top in the summer. So it’s definitely an investment piece (this one was under $30!) to have in your closet.

This Season's Gold // Petite in Layers - Bell sleeve top

This Season's Gold // Petite in Layers - Striped bell sleeve top

The funny part of the layering the black crop with the bell sleeve top is that it was also a cropped top. However, when I put them together, it gave me a bit of length in my torso, and the striped bell sleeves gave me length in the arms!

It does help that I am wearing high waisted jeans (a shape I’m currently loving!). It’s something about that extra cinch! Ha!

This Season's Gold // Petite in Layers - Zara crop top

I wanted to play with structure of the lines  in the look, and so the layers of fringe on the clutch reflected the stripes in the blouse to give the outfit some edge.  Wearing open sandals was my way of defying the cool spring weather and keep it basic.

It’s Tuesday, and there’s nothing better than an exciting email in your inbox that says one of your favorite online shops is having a Friends and Family event for 25% off everything! Now while I have not always been a customer of Shopbop, sometime last year it came to my attention that as an Amazon Prime member anything I ordered from them online could be at my front doorstep in just two days! I became a fan very quickly as a result. I’m also happy to have an IFB Feature this week styling one of my favorite spring jackets from Anthropologie (that one of my readers already scored for herself after seeing the post!).

So if you need a dress, earrings, strappy sandals clutch, or just a golden inflatable swan (Ha!) for this upcoming weekend, it may very well be at your front door by Friday! Can you tell I’m ready for summer?

Here are just a few of my favorite things all now 25% off with code INTHEFAM. (Hint: If you’re not with Amazon Prime, find a friend who is, share this post with her and prepare to meet her at her front door in about two days!  You’re welcome!)

Thank you for reading!

It’s Tuesday! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I’m enjoying a bit of a break this week from teaching, and getting out from under a rough week. But one thing that has me excited is my upcoming style event with LOFT (I really love helping women discover new styles and ways to feel their best!) and all the beautiful colors that are starting to show for the spring season.

This Season's Gold // Stripes and Spring Jacket

Nothing says spring more than a great light jacket to transition you into summer! (Yes, I’m already thinking beach and sand!) I fell in love with this military jacket recently because of its structure and soft texture. The material is warm enough to carry you into the cool spring evenings! Finding unique pieces that speak to you can be a challenge, but when you know what you are drawn to over and over again, it becomes your signature – your ehem…season’s gold, if you will. I find that I am enjoying more structure in my clothing and gravitating towards pieces that are me in that way. ( You know when someone says ” I saw this and I knew it was something you’d want”? Exactly!)

This Season's Gold // Spring Military Jacket

This jacket feels easy, and adding stripes as a neutral to any look allows you to add that pop of color however you want. It’s spring, so this green wallet-on-a-chain is my current favorite go to for now. Hope you enjoy the details!
