In the Green :: Camo Pants and Zippers

Hello! I recently had the privilege of being photographed by a wonderfully talented photographer in New York City. It was such an honor and a highlight of my new experience as a blogger to get to work with JJ from her namesake studio, JJ Ignotz Photography. We had such a great time on what turned out to be such a hot and humid afternoon in the Meat Packing District. I’m surprised my curly hair didn’t fight me too much. (You curly hair girls know!) I look forward to sharing all of the great work that came out of the photo shoot thanks to JJ, her assistant Olivia and my assistant Stephen. Thank you all again for such an exciting shoot!

Camo Pants

There is nothing I love more than a pair of classic pumps with a great vamp. The vamp is the part of the shoe by the toe line that shows off what they (I’m not sure who “they” are!) like to call “toe cleavage”. Some women love toe cleavage and some don’t. Some women prefer a low vamp because of the elongating look it can create for the legs, while others prefer a higher vamp (let’s say the midline between a low and high vamp is right by the start of the arch of the foot) because they can get away with wearing a nude shoe sock for fit issues or for comfort in a higher heel. I would say these black pumps have a low vamp on my foot, and I love them!

One of my favorite colors to wear olive green! It suits my skin tone and I like how I can treat it as a neutral when styling different outfits. I chose to style these camo cargo pants on the dressier side rather than keeping it casual as would seem more than likely for me to do. The snug fit of the pants and the flair of the ankle zippers made it fun to pair with a flowing olive green top to keep balance between the top and bottom.

In continuing with the theme of zippers, I paired my look with this exposed zipper cross body bag that had just the right amount of hardware to go along with the olive green outfit. And the necklace was no exception, especially because it resembled the zipper links of the bag. It’s actually quite a hefty piece of jewelry but that’s what made me like it all the more.
