Thank you to prAna and #WeAllGrow Latina Network for partnering on this post.
The words “I’m busy” are often an understatement in any mother’s daily life. I am sure of it. We all wish there were more hours in the day and less tasks on our to-do lists. Am I right? I know that with everything I have going on this time of year (planning trips and kid camp registrations, tests, tending to allergies, writing speeches, I could go on and on…), I rarely find a moment that I can dedicate to going to the gym. I’ve said a thousand times I’m returning to Bikram Yoga for a 6am class, but have yet to make it. (Trying!) So with my busy life, I know that I have to find different ways to motivate myself to stay active until I finally do make it to that 6am class! Here are my 3 ways to stay active while “the busy” keeps going.

There is something to be said for wearing clothing that motivates you to stay active. Feeling good about yourself is something I believe is important in motivating yourself to get fit and take on a new adventure, even if it means getting a new outfit to get the ball rolling. This netted top is long enough to cover my backside while light enough to wear on a cool or hot day. I also love finding a perfect pair of leggings that made with attention to detail and feel snug in all the right places. High-waisted is a plus! These prAna pants fit the bill! Smooth, snug, high-waisted and made from sustainable material (doing good for the world!), these leggings were the perfect motivation to enjoy an active day outdoors!
2. TAKE THE FAMILY WITH YOU
Taking pics is one thing, but having my husband and my son to make it a day we can all enjoy outdoors is another. Going on hikes (see post here), finding ways to take on new adventures together, and modeling the importance of physical activity to my son is important. Getting to spend time with those you love by choosing activities that keep you active is the perfect way to get more stuff done!

3. DISCOVER SOMEWHERE NEW
Making the effort to find somewhere new to walk/hike/workout when you have too many things already on your plate may just feel like another task. However, it is possible to make it happen. Take a moment to think about a place you’ve always wanted to see or visit – even if only a short drive away. You’ll discover you are more inclined to spend time exploring a new place with a fresh set of eyes, and therefore stay active longer. Maybe that’s the reason I am less likely to make it to a gym to stay active (although winter may change my mind!) since I love the adventure of discovering somewhere new.
What do you do to stay active when you are too busy to workout? I’d love to be inspired by your ideas! Thank you for stopping by!

I find it’s always so difficult to find the time when you live such a busy life for me I work out either really early in the morning or late at night because during the day I’m always running to class or to castings, meetings or photoshoots. I really like number 3. Finding somwhere new to explore I think that’s a great idea and something I’m going to try and block into my schedule every weekend. Thanks for that great tips. XOWP
I can totally relate to this. I know it’s best to exercise in the morning and those early morning classes are usually packed, but as hard as I try, I can’t work out that early in the morning. And sometimes with my busy schedule, it’s hard to find time but I make it happen. Also, I agree with wearing clothes that motivate you. When I have a cute outfit to wear to the gym, I’m usually very motivated to go :)

Thank you for the motivation and suggestions. I”m def guilty of using “I’m busy” or “I have kids” as an excuse to be not active and really need to change that. I’ve been wanting to kick start my workout and this is the perfect post to get me pumped up. This active look is great on you, the top is so unique.

I love this post! For the longest time I always said I was “too busy” to work out. I finally just got up and did it. I love that you said to wear clothes that motivate you. Once I got a new workout wardrobe, I was definitely more motivated. These prAna pants sound amazing! I need my workout pants to be snug.
I love this! I was just thinking recently how that couldn’t be more true. You are what you are. I’m loving that open knit top! And those leggings! Girl I need to get me a pair! I’ve been meaning to check out a place nearby and you’ve inspired me to!
Good ideas to inspiring us get more motivation.
I’m think motivation is inside the mind, everyone should have a minimal. It’s very good the ideal outfit and shoes too. It’s important to have ready the gym bag (in my case the swimming bag :P) in the car. Keep motivated

Girl! The struggle is all to real! I have two little ones and it’s so easy not to do it because life is so busy! I think as moms we are wired to put everyone else first and not take care of ourselves like we should BUT the better we take care of ourselves the better we can care for others! We’ve just started back at the gym after 4 years. I’m just like you in trying to commit to something in the morning and I ALWAYS fall through! A big reason why it was so tough was because we couldn’t take the kids but luckily we found a gym with a great childcare! So now we go a few times a week in the evening! I also totally agree with wearing clothing that motivates you to work out! You looks is absolutely perfect! Such a great motivating post!

You’re totally right, sometimes I wish there were at least 36 hours in a day. And in the days like these, I literally have no time to go to the gym or enjoy some me-time. I love this outfit you’ve picked up for the outdoor activities, the sweater is so chic and stylish. Definitely, a well-styled outfit can keep you motivated.

Staying active is really important and I believe every single person on Earth should work out, but sometimes doing that seems impossible. Although, we should turn it into a priority, and after all, even 10 minutes of cardio a day counts :). And as you mentioned, wearing some cool work out gear makes us more motivated, but I’d never be able to work out with my family, haha. I like listening to music and doing my thing while working out. Have a lovely week ahead! xx

I actually noticed that when I wear active wear, because it is so cozy and comfortable, I would just stay on the couch. Haha.
What usually motivates me is traveling, because I can walk all day long and lose some weight. But love your active wear.

These are such great tips for those busy days, weeks or months.
Great tip! I think it’s such a great idea to include your family – especially when you’re a mom! Personally I’m a morning workout person – if I don’t do it in the AM I end up skipping that day. I totally need some new workout gear. Maybe that would inspire me to step it up a little….

I’ve been to a 6:30 AM spinning class ONCE and I’m just saying that wasn’t for me, at all, haha. I need to be awake when I exercise and it takes me like two hours to wake up mentally so I’ll ditch those morning classes for sure and stick to my afternoon routines instead. However I love the idea of discovering new places to work out at (in whichever way you do it) and a key thing to make you want to get in shape and stay that way is by dressing the part too which you did here with the prAna outfit! :)

I totally agree that working out and just having that moment to reconnect with your body and thoughts is so important. Especially with kids, work, and daily activities that keep you running around. Workout apparel that is cute, comfy, and sustainable is also important. I love working out when I have cute clothes too. This active wear is perfect for on the go errands as well as physical fitness. I need to check out this brand! xoxo, Christine

This post is so inspiring! I agree, sometimes because of the hectic pace of life we simply don’t take time to explore new adventures. And what a better way to enjoy those precious and unique moments than spending them with the family. It’s super important to stay active in order to be healthy and to maintain balance in our life.
Your outfit is so pretty, that top is chic and perfect to saty active and looking stylish at the same.
Beautiful post!

I like all your tips, I’m not a mom yet but I’m always busy, I literally don’t have time to go to the GYM which is in MY BUILDING! So that blogpost is so helpful for me.
What a beautiful post girl and I couldn’t agree more! I feel like I’m busy and don’t have time for anything, can’t imagine being a mom. It must be crazy!
Your outfit is beautiful and I think your advice can be applied for everyone in general!
Thank you so much for sharing! Need to check out this brand!
PS: You are such a babe!!!

I am definitely not a going to the gym kind of girl. It all bores me way to fast!
When I work out it has to be either hiking or riding a bike. I feel that new sceneries motivate and inspire me more than the same routine on and on again at the gym does.
But you are right about the clothes. It is definitely a big factor choosing the right work out gear that makes you feel good and you can move in.
Also I love hiking with hubs or family because you get to talk about stuff without any interruptions from our busy lives and phones.
Thank you for sharing these tips! They have motivated me to begin being more active again.
“Wear clothes that motivate.” That makes so much sense. It’s all about attitude. :)
I don’t think that we can ever be too busy to work out honestly. I’m so guilty of making excuses, when at the end of the day, there aren’t any. I’m sure all of us can relinquish at least 15-20 minutes of our sleep to get a quick workout in, even if it’s something from YouTube. That’s what I do when I’m stuck in the house :)

Finding comfortable workout clothes (that transition easily to ‘regular clothes’) has been life-changing for me! :) And yeah. I bring my kiddos with me to EVERY workout — even if it’s just a walk!
I’m headed into a very busy season and was worried about how I would stay moving-these are such great ideas!
I absolutely love that top, and it would be a great motivator for sure!
My little one is almost 17 months old, and we’ve already been finding ways to get outside so we can all enjoy some type of physical activity. Makes us all feel so much better at the end of the day. :)
Oh I can so relate to this! Lately I’ve been fairly good at squeezing in my workouts at the end of a long day. I know most people advocate working out in the a.m but somehow I can’t seem to function (let alone do a hiit workout lol!) in the a.m without a nice big mug of coffee and by then it’s time to head to work. So lately I’m going against the grain and working out when I get home. It actually has been helping me sleep better (I’m a bit of an insomniac).
I’d also say new workout gear is always a great motivator! I’m getting a new pair of running shoes soon and I’m so excited!
