Happy Sunday! It’s finally Spring Break for me, but that means catching up on so many tasks that have been on my to-do list for days now! This past week I spent time hosting events with Kate Spade and Ambience, a local boutique in Edgewater, NJ, with a great group of gals that I will be sure to share soon along with a revealing skincare experience that literally changed the way I’ve been taking care of my skin!
But today is all for you! I wanted to thank you for always stopping by and being so supportive to This Season’s Gold! I’ve gotten together with a great group of bloggers to host a weeklong Sunday giveaway!
See the details below! Good luck!
Winner’s choice of one of the following –> iPhone 7, a Macbook Air or $900 cash!
Runs from April 9th, 1pm EST – April 14th, midnight!
Happy Sunday! If there is one neutral I am drawn to most, it is gold! It’s pretty obvious, I know. But more than a color (can we call it that?) that makes me always think of my daughter’s room, it’s also a classic base for any style you put together that gives you a little “wow” factor on your most causal days. The metallic shoe trend is ever so alive. But aside from trending these days, it’s safe to say there will always be a great metallic shoe you can wear from your causal days to the fanciest of events.
Remember these silver oxfords from a while back (or these from 2 years ago!)? I wore them out for almost an entire season until I found the perfect gold pair in these flatforms. They give me height so that I can wear them out to run around shopping and still have some edge to my look on my more casual days. In other words, I feel dressed up when I really may not be. Ha!
I happen to also be loving floral print right now! It’s all over Instagram, but I have to say it wasn’t originally a print I was drawn to. It can a challenge to make floral print look grown up, but with little hints here and there in a key piece, you can pull it off! See my last post sharing this beautiful Gucci bag with a dressier look in a floral denim Kate Spade dress!
While I sometimes feel that I am too petite to pull off a pair of wide leg jeans, I love that these cropped Levi’s hit right at the ankle. With only a little fringe at the bottom, the jeans feel fresh, casual, and super comfortable. I’ll wear a great pair of skinny jeans any day, but having loose-fitting jeans in your closet is a must!
Are you a silver or gold shoe gal? Let me know in the comments! Love the look? We’d love for you to pin one of images and share your love with others! There is something exciting headed our way, and we ant you to be the first to know about it! Sign up here for our newsletter, and get in on all the fun! (Hint – giveaways, and takeovers!) Thank you so much for stopping by!
Okay, so first things first – it’s been awhile, again! Best explained – my site and my life went under a bit of a hacking. Still learning the world of backend computing, I lost access to a few important files to get back to posting. As for my life, the early months of the year were consumed by my dedication to directing a musical. This year (my 12th!), I directed Next to Normal, and if you don’t know the story well, let’s just say that it is an intense story about family, love and loss. I wanted to honor it well, and so I dove right in and didn’t look up until it was finished this past weekend.
Now over both overwhelming experiences, I’m making my spring return (while outside my window an ice storm is reminding us winter is not quite over) and celebrating year two of This Season’s Gold! I have been sharing on my social sites in the meantime (follow along on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), and thrilled to have recently partnered with Kate Spade to host a Spring Style Event on April 7th! If you are in the NJ/NYC area, check out the details and rsvp here.
If you haven’t noticed, flowers and denim have made their return in a big way together this season. Whether you’ve seen embroidered flowers on jeans, floral patches on denim jackets, or rose appliqué’s on pretty denim dresses like this one, flowers have returned for spring quite fashionably this season!
This denim dress (with pockets!) is perfect for the transitioning season. I love how structured it feels and that the dark denim makes the pink flowers pop with color. With a black and white striped inner collar detail, this dress makes for a perfect outfit for a stroll in Paris or a spring evening in New York along the water.
Adding my new favorite floral bag and low block heels, I am ready for spring! I couldn’t resist a few touches of gold from my belt to my bracelets. I was happy to add a little sparkle to celebrate This Season’s Gold second anniversary and all that is to come our way this year!
I’ve added some of my favorite flower and denim looks below. What are you looking forward to this spring? Let me know in the comments!
Thank you so much for all the love you have given me and This Season’s Gold this past year! We have grown so much, and I cannot thank you enough for making it possible. I hope to surprise you with so much more content this year! Thank you for stopping by!
Thank you to Kate Spade for partnering on this post.
Hello everyone! I am happy to be back! Let’s just say that the start of 2017 began much slower and stranger than expected. I think with so much happening around us in the world right now, I needed to step back a bit, put things into perspective and get a bit more focused for the sake of moving forward full force. So here I am, rested, recharged and ready more than ever to take on 2017 and make it a great year! Thank you for coming along for the ride!
Earlier this January, I hosted an event with CStudio Home, whose parent company is The Company Store, that does not only offer fresh and modern bedding design, but happens to be a great place to find those perfect little details for your home. It was CStudio Home’s first pop-up shop in New Jersey, and I was happy to host the event and share some of my favorite bedding from their shop. Even though we’ve haven’t had a considerably cold winter yet in the New York City area, nothing beats a comfy & cozy blanket and soft bedding to make those cooler nights warmer.
When I received my Strie blanket, I wanted nothing more than to stay in it all day – that is how comfortable and how soft the blanket feels. I just had to get another one (in this gorgeous teal color) as I left the event, because my son had been sneaking to our bed in the middle of the night just to cuddle with us under the blanket. And even though their pop-up shop has closed for the season, you can still find them online. I’ve already got these pillows, this comforter, and these pillow covers in Geo Denim Blue in my online cart because I couldn’t get enough of them in store!
It was such a pleasure to host so many wonderful people who stopped by to support the event and This Season’s Gold with fun giveaways and a hot chocolate bar to keep everyone feeling cozy. When I started TSG, I never thought I would be hosting these wonderful events with such great brands. But the events have become such a gift to me because I get to meet so many of you and hear your own stories about you, which is what matters to me most. I hope you get to stop by often as I plan to share more wonderful events and collaborations with brands that I love! I can’t wait to tell you!
Some other favorite finds this month that have kept me comfy & cozy has been oversized sweaters, my new favorite over-the-knee boots (50% off on sale!) and this special edition Daniel Wellington watch (15% off with code SEASONSGOLD). I’ve been loving warm brown’s quite a bit lately in my wardrobe, but as with the season’s, I’m sure that is bound to change as we move through the year.
Thank you so much for reading and returning to This Season’s Gold. Many of you personally reached out to me to make sure I was okay and when I would return to sharing here. I promise I didn’t go far. I just wanted to be recharged for all the great content and fun coming your way!
Happy New Year everyone! What a wonderful start to 2017! So much of 2016 was a transition into learning, growing and understanding all that goes into creating a digital space that inspires all of you (and me too!). As I reflect on 2016, there are so many pivotal moments that made it a great year, with some bumps and lows along the way! Here are some of my favorite moments and some news to share, some of which never got to make it to the blog! Hope you enjoy, and I wish you all the best of love, health and happiness for 2017!
In February, we were off to Florida and Disney. It was such a special time to get away and feel the warmth of the sun after a very cold start to 2016!
In March, This Season’s Gold turned one and got a new logo and look. I was so excited about all the changes, and my first style event with the Loft!
Some Instagram favorites were shared in May. I had the honor of being invited by Maggy London to celebrate Moms, and gift a special Mom a wonderful opportunity to be pampered for the day! Making someone happy was honestly the best part of that experience because I knew it brightened her day!
What no one knew at this time was that I was in the middle of experiencing another loss. It was early on, so it was a different type of experience and one that I chose to be silent about for much longer this time. Most of my silence was a result of how unusual of a loss it was – where the embryo never attaches yet the amniotic sac is created, known as a blighted ovum. It became clear to me then that I am all the more ready and meant to bring to light so many of these issues that plague women during pregnancy. It is with the experience of sharing this space that I pulled myself together and moved forward to continue to inspire, encourage, and motivate.
Getting dressed up and traveling is my favorite thing to do! So not only did I get to get glam for an evening with Mr. E, but I also enjoyed time away in Cape Cod, getting the chance to host another style event in Chatham, after having hosted one with J.Crew a few weeks earlier!
My collaborative work with Maggy London in 2016 was nothing short of wonderful. I truly appreciate the brand and how it speaks to the woman who enjoys getting dressed up and feeling put together in some of the prettiest pieces. I look forward to working with them this new year!
Being asked to collaborate with Ann Taylor to represent the brand with style events was a joy this year. I can’t wait to share all there is to come in working with them!
Being invited to several New York Fashion Week shows and events and attending almost all of them was overwhelming, but a tremendous joy at the same time! The beautiful people I was able to spend time with and enjoy learning more about made the experience all the better!
Starting to share my Five Finds series with beauty products and Motherhood series is something I am only beginning, but enjoy sharing. I am discovering that what it means to take care of yourself isn’t only about the clothes but about an entire lifestyle from head to toe, and I want to share that with you.
My first Holiday Guide this year was a favorite this year because of you! I am honored that many of you loved it, and shared it was so many others! I was even given a gift from my own Holiday Guide for Christmas, which was such a nice surprise! (I guess it worked! HA!)
Sharing the Most Wonderful Time giveaways was my favorite to create this entire year. I got the opportunity to make other people happy during the holidays and give back in some way to all of you who support me every week by following along on my social media and coming to this space to comment or share.
This past week, I was surprised with the honor of being named one of 12 women to watch for 2017 from my hometown county in New Jersey by the popular site Hoboken Girl. I was truly humbled by the honor.
I am grateful for all of your kindness, and I wish you all the best in this new year! We are growing, so if you haven’t had a chance, consider joining the newsletter to stay up to date on upcoming events, giveaways, and lifestyle inspiration! Change is coming!
